Africa-Press – Mozambique. A delegation of experts from Sonelgaz, led by the Director General of its Engineering Division, is conducting a working visit to the Republic of Mozambique.
The mission aims to transfer Algerian expertise in electricity production and energy engineering, in line with the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which seek to strengthen Algeria’s presence in regional energy markets and advance South-South partnerships, according to a statement from the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies.
Bolstering Algeria’s position as a trusted African energy partner
During the visit, a technical meeting was held between the Algerian delegation and Mozambican energy sector officials to explore avenues of cooperation, exchange technical expertise, and assess organizational and operational aspects of the energy sector.
The delegation also visited the Port of Maputo to review logistical frameworks supporting technical operations and toured a power plant commissioned in 2018, gaining firsthand insight into operational best practices in energy infrastructure management.
This mission underscores the pivotal role of Sonelgaz in implementing Algeria’s national energy policy, facilitating access to international markets, and consolidating Algeria’s position as a dependable energy partner across Africa.
