Africa-Press – Mozambique. A diplomat must be detail-oriented, attentive to everything around him,” said diplomat Murade Murargy, describing his 40-year career in diplomacy.

Murargy was speaking during the launch of his book, entitled “Traces of a Life of Overcoming”, an event attended by former Mozambican statesmen Joaquim Chissano and Armando Guebuza and social activist Graça Machel, among other figures from Mozambican and international diplomacy.

On the occasion, Murade Murargy thanked his family and the late president Samora Machel for their trust. “I also thank President Chissano, our chief diplomat, for all his teachings, and President Guebuza for the trust he placed in me,” he said.

In turn, Hélder Muteia, who wrote the book’s preface said, introducing the book, that: “‘Traces of a Life of Overcoming’ is unique because it doesn’t limit itself to the author’s successes. The book is rich in substance and the values of a fulfilling existence, as well as the flavours of our Mozambican identity.”

He emphasized that there are many memoirs, but “this one is unique because it doesn’t limit itself to the successes achieved. This is a more human book, written in simple and communicative language, addressing anguish, bringing honesty and humility”.

‘Traces of a Life of Overcoming’ is published by Gala-Gala Edições, which thus continues a collection of works of the same genre. With approximately 25 chapters, the book addresses, head-on and boldly, the author’s journey from childhood in Manjacaze to adulthood.

The work portrays the author’s roots and destiny and didactically explores the intricacies of his emotional relationships with his family, friends, and other companions on this journey. It shares key episodes from his career and explores in detail the dramas of the transition from colonial rule to national independence, observed from Lisbon, where he lived, as well as his decision to return to his country to join the efforts to build a free and prosperous nation.
