Africa-PressMozambique. The Integrated Development Agency of the North (ADIN) and its partners will be involved in the reconstruction of public infrastructure destroyed in the wake of the March 24 terrorist attack on the town of Palma in Cabo Delgado.

The coordinator of the Communication and Transversal Affairs department at ADIN, João Machatine, announced that a technical team would visit Palma in the next few days to make a thorough evaluation.

“We came with the team of our partners to assess what infrastructure might deserve immediate intervention to allow the symbols of the state to operate here, in order to inspire confidence among economic agents and the population,” Machatine said.

Using funding from the European Union, ADIN is currently rehabilitating infrastructure destroyed by terrorists in the town of Macomia.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of State for Cabo Delgado province, António Supeia, assured that the government is creating conditions for the massive return of the population to areas that were once invaded by terrorists.

António Supeia was speaking this Saturday in the town of Palma, where he participated in the cleaning up day. He stressed that the government’s priority is to restore essential services to assist the population.

“The employees [civil servants] must be here to receive you, to solve your problems. So, this is going to need from us to first rebuild these houses, so that the people can be there, but soon we’re going to call you all to come back. We are creating conditions for you to return, but I want to emphasise that you must be vigilant, otherwise the terrorists will return here”, said António Supeia.
