Africa-Press – Mozambique. Members of the kidnapping industry took action again in Maputo city on Thursday evening and kidnapped the owner of a liquor store, which is located near in the building belonging to the company Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), between Avenida Eduardo Mondlane and Amílcar Cabral, in Maputo city.
According to data collected by Integrity, a the time the kidnapping took place ‘Manoj, a Mozambican businessman of Indian origin, was inside a white Land Cruiser, which had the front left window broken. The victim was dragged into a brown Toyota Ractis vehicle, with the registration plate AJG 853 MP which left the place at high speed.
A members of this family was also a victim of kidnapping a few years ago.
It should be noted that this kidnapping takes place at a time when two more Mozambican citizens of Asian origin are still in captivity, among them is businessman Mwanuar kidnapped in October 2022 and businesswoman Sheinaz Faruk Gani, in captivity for two months.
