Africa-Press – Mozambique. A ruby extraction company is expected to start operating later this year in Montepuez district, Cabo Delgado province, helping to increase production and [consequently] revenue from the export of this resource, ‘Noticias’ reports today.
The enterprise, operated by ‘Moza Minerais’, already has the necessary equipment, and production trials are currently underway, adds the same source.
Castro Elias, executive secretary of the Kimberley Process Management Unit at the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, told Noticias that production should start later this year.
Elias further noted that the extraction of rubies had grown, in line with what had happened in the production of gold.
