Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Madams – As Madames” opens at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 15th, at the UEM University Cultural Centre.

Thandi loves her life. She loves her beautiful son Hintsa, her witty husband Mandla, her comfortably yet challenging job with the tourism board and her best friends Nosizwe and Lauren, but she has to admit – it’s hard being Superwoman in South Africa today. She tries to be the perfect traditional wife and African mother at home, the black woman who can be promoted at work and the perfect foil to her friends Benetton, a black and Xhosa, a white and English! Thandi admits defeat and decides she needs that great bourgeois South African accessory: a maid. And since she doesn’t have the courage to boss a sister around in her own house, she decides that she should be a white maid.
