The Bank of Mozambique Museum has inaugurated a new fine arts exhibition titled “Dialogue Between Landscapes of Jacob and Mucavele.” Governor Rogério Zandamela emphasized the exhibition’s role in promoting Mozambique’s cultural heritage and artistic expression. This event is part of the museum’s annual program, with more exhibitions planned for the year.
Africa-Press – Mozambique. Yesterday (16), the Governor of the Banco de Moçambique, Rogério Zandamela, inaugurated the temporary Fine Arts exhibition entitled “Dialogue Between Landscapes of Jacob and Mucavele” at the Banco de Moçambique Museum.
In his remarks, Rogério Zandamela noted that the exhibition is part of the Museum’s annual programme of temporary exhibitions for the current year and reflects the Banco de Moçambique’s ongoing efforts to promote and enhance Mozambique’s historical and cultural heritage. Two additional temporary exhibitions are also scheduled for later this year.
According to the Governor, the initiative also contributes to strengthening the role of the Banco de Moçambique Museum, which was conceived to promote and showcase the country’s historical and cultural heritage, as well as the richness and diversity of national artistic expression.
Moreover, Rogério Zandamela expressed his hope that the artistic dialogue between Jacob and Mucavele would inspire, engage and deepen the public’s connection with the visual arts, reaffirming the role of culture as a fundamental element of collective identity.
The Governor also extended words of appreciation to Felisberto Tlhemo, an official of the Banco de Moçambique and curator of the exhibition, highlighted that his “dedication and artistic sensitivity were instrumental in the conception and realisation of this exhibition.”
Since its inauguration on 17 May 2023, the Museum has hosted three temporary exhibitions, namely “Bertina Lopes and Artists of Her Time,” “Quadra Plástica,” and “Echoes of Time.”
Members of the Board of Directors, the Chairperson of the Mozambican Banking Association, Teotónio Comiche, advisers, managers and staff members of the Banco de Moçambique, as well as public officials, artists and invited guests, attended the event.
