Africa-Press – Mozambique. Bayern Munich on Thursday fined and suspended Sadio Mane for punching his teammate Leroy Sane in the face following a Champions League defeat against Manchester City earlier this week.
“Sadio Mane, 31, will not be included in the FC Bayern squad for this Saturday’s home match against 1899 Hoffenheim,” Bayern Munich said in a statement. “This is due to his misconduct after Bayern’s Champions League match at Manchester City. Mane will also be given a fine.”
The Senegalese player punched his teammate in the dressing room on Tuesday after his side’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal at the Etihad Stadium.
Mane joined the Bavarians from Liverpool last year.
Bayern will face City again in the second leg on April 19.
