Africa-Press – Mozambique. A businessman was kidnapped this Saturday afternoon on Karl Max Avenue, in Maputo city.
The owner of the ‘Bazar Central’ crockery store was snatched by four unidentified individuals who were transported in a light vehicle, according to witnesses at the scene.
The victim was accompanied by his mother, who had to be taken to hospital.
Witnesses told the press that they had attempted to help the victim, but were deterred by the gunshots fired by the kidnappers.
Less than a month on, another kidnapping took place this year. The first one took place on Albert Luthuli Avenue, in Maputo city. The police have not yet commented on the matter.
