Africa-PressMozambique. Seven women were kidnapped on Saturday afternoon from Nacate village in Macomia district, Cabo Delgado province, where they were farming.

According to Carta sources, soldiers from the Alert Force of the Southern African Development Community (SAMIM) were deployed to the region on Sunday with the aim of rescuing the victims, but have so far been unsuccessful.

This is not the first case of abduction of women and girls in the districts affected by the terrorist attacks. Hundreds of women and girls have been kidnapped by the terrorists since the attacks began. Some of them have been rescued, while others have never been seen by their families again.

Meanwhile, in Pundanhar, Palma district, SAMIM forces captured a brother-in-law of Bonomade Machude Omar, the military leader of the terrorists. He is Ali Buana Aiuba, 23 years old, and led a group of terrorists operating in that region of the country.

According to what ‘Carta’ has learned, Aiuba is the brother of one of the wives of Bonomade Machude Omar, and one of a group of 20 terrorists captured by the SADC troops in an operation in which the leader of the terrorist base in Chitama, Nangade district, a man known as Sheik Njile North, was killed.

Still last week, SADC forces shot four terrorists on Xibolongo beach in the Administrative Post of Mucojo, Macomia district, while in Montepuez, ten suspected terrorists were detained – three on Friday and seven on Saturday.
