Africa-Press – Mozambique. The port of Mocimboa da Praia, once one of the infrastructures guaranteeing supply to the northern districts of Cabo Delgado province, will resume its important role with the reactivation of activities, thanks to the Centre for the Promotion of Economic Development (CPDE), an institution of the Provincial Executive Council.
It was in this context that, on Sunday, March 13, Governor Valige Tauabo, and TotalEnergies’ country manager for Mozambique, Maxime Rabilloud, carried out a working visit to Mocímboa da Praia port. The visit was meant to assess current conditions, in order to reach a decision on the resumption of dredging activities to allow cargo vessels to supply the northern districts of Cabo Delgado via the port.
Should this be achieved through the Provincial Government’s Development Promotion Centre, the transport of people and goods and the supply of food products, construction materials and fuels to the northern region will be guaranteed.
With the port of Mocimboa da Praia in operation, logistics in the northern zone will be once again running at full throttle.
