Africa-PressMozambique. The governor of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, has called for residents to be wary of rumours sparked by the arrival in the country last Friday of Rwandan military personnel supporting Mozambique in the fight against terrorism.

Their arrival will be followed on Thursday, July 15, by that of SADC military personnel.

“The population of Cabo Delgado has to be vigilant, and aware of what we don’t know. When we’re unsure, we take it to the authorities. To see a group of armed strangers passing by in a certain area is cause for surveillance, and that’s where we’ll draw attention. If you weren’t aware of it, then you will find out through us,” he stressed.

Governor Tauabo told his listeners about the arrival in the province of Rwandan troops, and of SADC forces the day after tomorrow.
