Africa-Press – Mozambique. The President of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo, and his Malawian counterpart, Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, will on Friday open the Dedza / Calomue One-Stop Border Post.
In Malawi, this border post is located in Dedza district. In Mozambique, it is located in Calómue in the Administrative Pots of Ulongué, in Angónia district, Tete province.
The innovative one-stop border model carries out the migration, customs and health processes between the two countries at a single entry and exit point, promoting greater efficiency in the movement of people and goods, and reducing time and logistical costs.
The one-stop border post model – part of the World Bank-funded Southern Africa Trade and Connectivity Project (SACP) – aims to strengthen connectivity, facilitate cross-border trade and promote sustainable economic growth in the Southern Africa region.
