Africa-Press – Mozambique. President-elect Daniel Chapo expressed solidarity with families who lost loved ones in the post-election protests.
He stated that his commitment is to maintain peace and develop the country inclusively. To achieve this, he emphasized the importance of recognizing that Mozambique belongs to all its citizens. “We are all brothers and sisters, and I promise to govern all Mozambicans,” he said.
“To me, governing means caring for all Mozambicans and protecting the people who elected me, without distinction of religion, color, ethnicity, or social class,” Chapo affirmed.
He assured that all Mozambican voices have been heard and expressed his willingness to lead the process of reforms in electoral bodies, highlighting the importance of strengthening dialogue.
“We will be a strong nation if we listen to one another, and I promise to lead this country with courage. I promise a new era of change, progress, hope, and love for all Mozambicans,” he stated.
“This victory is not just Frelimo’s but the victory of the Mozambican people,” Chapo reiterated.
