Chongoene administrator invites potential investors to the district

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The administrator of Chongoene district in Gaza province is urging national and foreign businesspeople to invest in the district, given its strong agro-ecological and tourist potential.

Artur Macamo explains that the Chongoene district has arable land for agriculture and a very rich coastline for beach tourism and the development of aquaculture.

Macamo noted that the implementation of rice, citrus and meat processing industries are among the areas which make it worthwhile for businesses to invest in the district, given the increase in agricultural and livestock production in the region.

Macamo said that the government was open to investment proposals and would do everything within its powers to ease installations favouring the socio-economic development of the region.

The Chongoene district has seen major infrastructure investments, notably the Filipe Nyusi Airport and the dock to transport ores extracted from Chibuto heavy sands.
