Africa-Press – Mozambique. The president of Guinea Bissau will pay a state visit to Mozambique next year, at the invitation of his Mozambican counterpart, the Agência de Notícias da Guiné reported last week.

The announcement was made on Friday by the Minister of Combatants of Mozambique, Josefina Beato Mateus Mpelo after a meeting with Umaro Siossoco Embaló.

“First, we would like to thank President Embaló for the invitation to participate in the celebrations of Guinea-Bissau’s 50 years of independence, and we convey to him the congratulations of the president of Mozambique,” Minister Mbepo said.

Minister Mpelo revealed that she had handed to the Guinean president an invitation from his Mozambican counterpart to visit Mozambique next year, and that President Embalo has responded positively.

Minister Mpelo went to Bissau as part of the official celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Guinea-Bissau’s independence and the 59th anniversary of the creation of its armed forces, marked on Thursday (16-11).
