Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Institute for Standardization and Quality-IP (INNOQ) last week organised a seminar in the city of Maputo to publicize the start of the Imported Products Conformity Assessment Program (PAC) for products imported into Mozambique.
The opening session of the seminar, which was attended by those involved in the import process, was chaired by INNOQ General Director Geraldo Albasini.
Albasini stated that conformity assessment programmes are based on verifying the conformity of products in relation to the requirements established in national, regional and international standards, among other technical specifications. Verifications are carried out through inspection, testing and certification.
The PAC, the first phase of which comes into force on May 24th this year, was introduced through Decree No. 8/2022, of March 14th, aims to ensure that all imports that may present risks to health, environment and safety comply with the requirements of Mozambican technical quality standards and other mandatory specifications.
