Africa-Press – Mozambique. Marcus Lingel, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Mozambique in Munich, Germany, announced on Ilha de Moçambique on Saturday (25-10) that he would support the rehabilitation of Namiteca Elementary School on the outskirts of the city of Nampula.
Lingel has been on a working visit to Nampula province since last Friday, and on Saturday visited schools in the Nampula district, where he was moved by the conditions in which students attend classes.
The announcement of the funding, particularly for the restoration of the roof and the construction of new classrooms, was made after a visit to several schools in the district.
“We visited schools in Nampula district, and I want to say that I will support the roofing of Namiteca school,” the consul said during a reception dinner hosted by Governor Eduardo Mariamo Abdula and his wife, Nazira Abdula.
During a reception hosted by the governor, the consul promised that he would continue to mobilize more strategic investment partnerships for the province, especially in the areas of agribusiness and community development.
During the meeting, Governor Abdula “crowned” the consul as a sign of recognition and appreciation for the cooperation between the parties, emphasizing that the rehabilitation would provide better learning conditions for the students at Namiteca Elementary School, which has eight classrooms and a total of 11,218 students, divided into 104 classes, taught by 109 teachers.
On Sunday, Marcus Lingel was scheduled to visit schools in the city of Ilha de Moçambique.
