Africa-Press – Mozambique. Between 22 September and 6 October 2025, escalating attacks by Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) triggered new waves of displacement across Cabo Delgado and some parts of Nampula province.

In Mocímboa da Praia, ongoing insecurity in Bairro 30 de Junho and Felipe Nyusi displaced an estimated 26,405 individuals. In Balama, around 5,585 people fled from Mpake and Mavala localities (Mavala posto) to Ntete and Mieze.

In Montepuez, approximately 3,980 individuals were displaced within the district, moving from Mararange, Mirate, and Nacololo to Nacuca and Mararange villages.

In Chiure, 1,164 individuals were displaced from Mazeze and Murocue localities to Metuge and Mieze postos in Metuge. Recent attacks in Memba district (Nampula Province) also forced 2,178 individuals to flee from Chipene and Necoro villages to Alua posto in Erati district.

Additional movements were recorded from Nangade (144 individuals), Macomia (121 individuals) and Muidumbe (66 individuals). Food, shelter, and non-food items remain the most urgent needs for affected populations.
