Africa-Press – Mozambique. More than 30 senior officers from the various branches of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM) took part in an intensive communication training programme, with a focus on media training, held yesterday and today (15 and 16 September) with the support of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ).
The initiative aimed to strengthen the institutional capacity of the FADM in engaging with the media, by developing practical skills in strategic communication, particularly in operational and institutional contexts.
The programme had a strong practical component, with simulations of interviews, press conferences, and public statements. It addressed current topics of significant public relevance.
During the sessions, participants practised articulating clear and coherent messages, aligned with the principles of institutional transparency and public accountability. The activity was supported by trainers specialised in military communication.
The attendees highlighted the importance of this type of specialised training as an essential step towards building trust with the public and the media, contributing to more effective, ethical, and professional communication by the FADM.
EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission with a mandate until June 2026. It focuses on the operational training cycle and maintenance, while also providing specialized training to enable the Mozambique Defence Armed Forces (FADM) to become self-sufficient in the fight against insurgency. This European Union mission includes military personnel from 11 nationalities.
