FIFA MA Course for Elite Referees, First Phase Concludes in Bo City

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The first phase of the ongoing FIFA Member Association (MA) Course for Elite Referees and Instructors has officially concluded today in Bo City.
A total of 30 elite referees — both male and female — participated in this initial phase, making history as all successfully passed the mandatory fitness test for the first time in Sierra Leone’s refereeing history.
Representing SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima and the Executive Committee, Acting General Secretary Ing. Mohamed Benson Bawoh delivered a message of satisfaction and encouragement. He expressed the federation’s excitement about the referees’ outstanding performance and reaffirmed SLFA’s unwavering commitment to improving referee welfare and delivering consistent capacity-building opportunities.
Lead FIFA Instructor Evangelist Felix Onias Tangawarima from Zimbabwe who facilitated the training, commended the referees for their excellent showing both in physical exercises and theoretical sessions. He applauded their discipline, focus, and determination, and pledged ongoing support to this promising group of referees as they strive for both national and international success.
As the first phase concludes, the second phase — dedicated to elite referee instructors — is scheduled to commence tomorrow, continuing through to June 25, 2025.
