Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Minister of Finance, Carla Loveira, met on 23 April in Beijing with the President of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Chen Xiaodong, with the aim of strengthening cooperation ties between the two countries.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Third High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, held under the theme “Action-Oriented: Building a Global Development Community for All”.

During a separate meeting with Chinese counterparts in the finance sector, namely the Ministry of Finance, the Export-Import Bank of China (EximBank) and the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), China’s Minister of Finance, Lan Fo’an, announced a donation of 200,000,000 yuan, as well as an additional 700,000,000 yuan available, in the form of grants, for projects to be agreed between the two parties.

The relationship between Mozambique and China has evolved significantly over the past few decades, with China becoming one of Mozambique’s largest trading partners and investors. This partnership has been marked by various development projects funded by Chinese investments, particularly in infrastructure and agriculture, which are crucial for Mozambique’s economic growth and development. The recent meeting underscores the ongoing commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation and address mutual development goals.
