Port agents surviving the accident immediately informed the Maritime Administration about the incident.

The Maritime Administrator of Nacala, Adamo Rachide, said that the four vessels mobilized for search operations rescued 14 survivors, including three minors aged between one and six years.

The source promised that the search for the three passengers still missing would continue.
