Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Constitutional Council announced this Friday the results of the sixth local elections, held on October 11th
According to the proclamation of the Constitutional Council this Friday, Frelimo won the elections in 56 municipalities.
Renamo was declared the winner in Chiúre, Quelimane, Alto-Molóquè and Vilanculos, and MDM in Beira.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Council did not validate the local elections in Marromeu municipality. and partially annulled the results in some polling stations in three municipalities; Nacala Porto, Milange and Gurue.
The results in the four aforementioned municipalities will presumably be announced at a later stage.
