Frelimo brigades concluded the internal election process for candidates for the Assembly of the Republic (AR) and heads of the list for provincial governors, as well as members of the Provincial Assemblies (AP), in preparation for the seventh general elections on October 9. The process, which began on May 29, involved various levels from cell committees to provincial committees.
In Maputo Province, the current governor, Manuel Tule, was elected. Voting for parliamentary candidates and AP members continued in this electoral circle. In Gaza, Margarida Mapanzene was chosen; in Tete, Domingos Viola; and in Cabo Delgado, Valigi Tauabo.
In Inhambane, Francisco Pagula, the current administrator of Vilankulo district, was elected head of the list, defeating Benilde Macuamule with 112 votes. Additionally, 14 effective candidates for AR deputies, 7 substitutes, and 81 AP members were elected.
