Africa-Press – Mozambique. Two people died in Mocuba district, Zambézia province, this weekend, following the passage of Tropical Cyclone Gombe.
Raul Guiliche, INGD delegate in Mocuba, said the deaths took place in the Administrative Post of Namanjavira, adding that a further person had also been injured.
Thirty-three houses in the district were partially destroyed due by the cyclone’s rains, with estimates indicating that a total of 183 people had been affected.
Meanwhile, the flow of the Licungo river in Mocuba was on Monday starting to fall off, after at one point reaching a depth of 8.45 metres. Even so, at two metres above its alert level, the danger still persists.
