Government Consults on New Inspectorates

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Government of Mozambique will hold on Friday August 22, a Consultation Seminar for the Creation of the General Inspectorate of the State (IGE) and of the General Inspectorate of Food and Economic Security (IGSAE). The consultation will take place at AFECC/Glória Hotel in Maputo City, starting at 9:00 a.m., according to a communique from the Presidency of Republic.

The opening session will be chaired by Minister of State Administration and Civil Service Inocencio Impissa representing the President of the Republic, Daniel Francisco Chapo.

The meeting will bring together representatives from state institutions, the judiciary, inspections, academia, professional associations, the private and informal sector, religious leaders, civil society and other stakeholders, aiming to gather proposals that will contribute to the creation of modern, effective, efficient and independent institutions capable of responding to the challenges of governance and oversight in Mozambique.

The recommendations and conclusions resulting from the event will serve as a basis for the development of legislative proposals that will define the nature, responsibilities, competencies, structure, and operation of the IGE and IGSAE, the communique concludes.
