Africa-Press – Mozambique. One person died and eight others are reported missing following a hippo attack on a canoe in the Zambezi river, in the district of Mutarara, in Tete Province.
The administrator of the district of Mutarara, Domingos Macajo, confirmed the fact to Miramar this Sunday morning and explained that the victims were returning from the machamba in a canoe that was attacked by a hippopotamus.
Macajo also said that search operations were underway for what is considered the first case of its kind in the district.
