Africa-Press – Mozambique. Hyenas and crocodiles are devouring goats and throwing communities in Moamba district, Maputo province, into a panic.
The head of the Sábiè administrative post, Helena Chivite, calls the situation “worrying”.
“In groups, in an authentic pack, hyenas eat kids – but only the insides. They can kill ten goats, just for the insides. They went to Macufene, where a breeder lost ten kids,” she said.
Sábiè residents say that the hyenas and crocodiles, supposedly from nearby reserves, make their forays mainly at night.
