Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Inspectorate of Economic Activities (INAE) in Maputo city has in the recent past seized around 80,000 meticais from 103 “xindondi” gambling machines
The head of Economic Operations, Culture and Sports at INAE, Joaquim Langa, says the amount will revert to the state, with the necessary administrative and financial procedures already underway.
The source further revealed that it is difficult to stop the illegal import of the gambling machines, as they currently enter the country in parts. The INAE is therefore cooperating with the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in attempts to identify and close down the equipment assembly sites.
