Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Mozambican authorities have just reinforced police numbers at Ressano Garcia, Moamba district, Maputo province, the largest land crossing point in the country.
The measure aims to put an end to trafficking in people and drugs, the smuggling of weapons and alcoholic beverages, and the movement of large sums of money by travellers.
The head of Customs at the Ressano Garcia border, Leonel da Conceição, said last week (September 9) that the joint force includes agents from the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM), the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC), Migration Services (SENAMI) and Customs, adding that it will be relentless in pursuit of those who break the law.
