Africa-Press – Mozambique. Mozambique’s Minister of the Interior, Arsénia Massingue, is to meet the South African Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, in Cape Town this Wednesday.
The meeting takes place less than two weeks after attacks in South Africa’s northern Kwazulu-Natal province, where at least seven Mozambican vehicles, including a passenger bus and truck, have been burnt out.
“We were quite concerned, and immediately made contact with our South African counterpart requesting a meeting to discuss this and other issues. But this one – which is the most critical at the moment – is a priority,” Minister Massingue told TVM.
The two officials will discuss cross-border crime, particularly the theft of vehicles, allegedly spirited away into Mozambican territory.
