Africa-PressMozambique. The Ponta do Ouro border crossing in the far south of Mozambique has reopened this Monday (28 June) after being closed for two days, the National Migration Service (SENAMI) has announced, in a communique issued today.

Transit at the Ponta do Ouro border, located in Matutuine district, Maputo province, was suspended on Saturday (26) and Sunday (27) because of the absence of any health personnel for the validation of Covid-19 tests on the South African side of the border.

As a result, SENAMI on Saturday advised those wishing to travel to South Africa to use other crossing points, such as Ressano Garcia, in Moamba district, also in Maputo province.
