Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Lesotho Contingent in Mozambique under the SADC Mission in Mozambique (SAMIM) deployed in the Nangade District of Cabo Delgado Province, in a joint offensive patrol with the United Republic of Tanzania (URT), destroyed abandoned unexploded grenades at Samora Machel village on the 19th December 2023.
This after the local police provided the Contingent with information about these grenades. Upon receiving the information, the Contingent conducted an offensive patrol to clear the area. They discovered six unexploded grenades, and destroyed them.
Meanwhile on the 23rd December 2023, the similar operation was conducted at Namuembe village in the south in Nangade District where four (04) other unexploded grenades were successfully destroyed.
