Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Elections Commission on Thursday elected Loló Correia to the post of director general of the Technical Secretariat for State Administration (STAE).
Correia, who had been acting as provincial director of STAE Tete, was elected with 10 votes, against seven for Helena Garrine, the current national director of training and civic education at the organ.
The newly elected director general will take the place left vacant by Felisberto Naife, who held the position for more than 15 years.
Loló Correia directed the 2018 local election and 2019 general election processes.
His immediate priority will be to enable the pilot voter registration scheduled for next October, in preparation for the voter registration to be held from scratch next year for the sixth municipal elections on October 11, 2023.
