Malfunction at Umbeluzi station affects water supply in Maputo, Matola and Vila de Boane

Africa-Press – Mozambique. Water supply company Águas da Região Metropolitana de Maputo, SA (AdRMM) announces to its customers and the general public that anomalies in the water supply to the cities of Maputo, Matola and Vila de Boane are the result of a pump failure at the Umbeluzi Water Treatment Plant in the early hours of this Friday, November 24th.

This could result in a drop in pressure and localised water shortages in some neighbourhoods supplied by the Umbeluzi system, especially in the highest and furthest points of the distribution network.

The situation is expected to normalise in the next few hours.

Cognisant of the inconvenience that this situation may cause to customers and consumers in the affected areas, the company appeals for understanding and says that technical teams are on the ground to ensure the rapid restoration of the water supply service.

AdRMM aims at the continuous improvement of the water supply service.
