Africa-Press – Mozambique. Members of the Mozambican Special Forces undergoing training by European Union military personnel in Vanduzi district, Manica province, are to leave for Cabo Delgado to reinforce the fight against terrorism within days.
The announcement was made by the President of the Republic of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who this Sunday travelled to the aforementioned training centre as part of his official visit to Mozambique.
“In a few days, they will be in Cabo Delgado. Several have been to Cabo Delgado once or twice already. Here, the best of the best are being trained to guarantee security. Not just military security, but security for civilians, ensuring that they can return and once again go about their normal daily lives,” he said.
Marcelo urged the newly graduated soldiers, during their mission in Cabo Delgado, to respect international law, humanitarian law and always serve the Mozambican people.
