Rasaque Manhique, the Mayor of Maputo, is currently in Macau leading the 43rd General Assembly of the Union of Portuguese-Speaking Capital Cities (UCCLA). Africa-Press – Mozambique. The President of the Maputo Municipal Council, Rasaque Manhique, is from today until Wednesday in Macau, where he is leading the 43rd General Assembly of the Union of Portuguese-Speaking Capital Cities (UCCLA).
The official agenda begins with a meeting of the UCCLA Executive Committee, where management instruments and the organisation’s strategic priorities for the next cycle will be approved.
According to a statement from the Maputo Municipality, the programme will include a visit to the exhibition of the Platform for Commercial Services for Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries.
“This space highlights the strategic role of Macau as a logistical and commercial bridge, promoting exchange between the Chinese market and the Lusophone world. In addition, the Business Forum will provide a networking environment focused on investment opportunities and public–private partnerships aimed at innovative urban management,” the statement reads.
The 43rd UCCLA General Assembly will be marked by the handover of leadership from Rasaque Manhique to the Chairman of the Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs:, Chao Wai Leng.
