Africa-Press – Mozambique. Fátima Mimbire, head of the list for governor of Maputo province, backed by the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM), has called for annulling the voting in Matola city.
According to Mimbire, the polling stations are only functioning with staff (MMVs) consisting of members of the ruling Frelimo party, and the MMVs from the opposition parties are being prevented from participating.
“Elections with only members of Frelimo at the polling stations are not Elections. This is strange because District Elections Director says that the polling station staff should not be expelled from the stations. But, on the ground, the opposite is taking place”, she said, in her Facebook account.
Mimbire promised that “We will soon expose the full names of everyone involved in this. And we are preparing cases against these people. These elections should be annulled in Matola. There are no elections in Matola”.
