Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Minister of National Defence, Cristóvão Chume met the US Ambassador in Maputo, Peter H Vrooman on Monday (04-03).
At the meeting, the two leaders analysed the state of cooperation in the field of defence between their respective states, highlighting the training of marines in counter-terrorism and support in the form of naval assets, such as semi-rigid boats, among others.
On the occasion, Minister Chume expressed the country’s openness to strategic and tactical support to overcome internal challenges.
The USA is a strategic partner for Mozambique not only in the field of defence and security, but also in the economic, social and cultural areas.
