With just 100 days to go before the continent’s biggest football festival kicks off, organisers have unveiled giant countdown clocks in all six host cities—Rabat, Casablanca, Fès, Tangier, Marrakech, and Agadir.
The symbolic installations are a striking reminder to fans across Africa that the 35th edition of the prestigious tournament is almost here.
The tournament will begin on 21 December 2025 in Rabat, with hosts Morocco set to face Comoros in the highly anticipated opening match.
This marks the country’s first time hosting the AFCON since 1988, and officials are promising a world-class fan experience in some of Africa’s most iconic stadiums.
Each host city is expected to erupt in football fever, blending Morocco’s renowned hospitality with the thrilling atmosphere of African football.
The final will take place in Rabat on 18 January 2026, when a new champion will be crowned.
