Mozambique and Comoros sign cooperation agreements

Africa-Press – Mozambique. Mozambique’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel Gonçalves, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Comoros, Dhoihir Dhoulkamal, were this Monday set to sign memoranda of understanding on political and diplomatic consultations between the two countries.

The memoranda will be the culmination of current conversations between the two parties and the dynamics driven by the general cooperation agreement between the two countries signed by the respective foreign affairs ministers in February 2023, with a view to strengthening ties of good neighbourliness, friendship and cooperation.

Mozambican head of state Filipe Nyusi has since yesterday been carrying out a working visit to the Comoros, this being the first agreement signed following the inauguration yesterday of Azali Assoumani for a five-year term as president of the neighbouring island nation.
