Mozambique Elections: Frelimo wins in Quelimane with 50.45% of the vote

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The District Elections Commission in Quelimane released this Friday morning the intermediate results of the local elections in the municipality of Quelimane, which give victory to Frelimo with 38,592 votes, against 35,086 for Renamo and 2,561 for MDM.

Lourenço Asside Abdul Gani, also known in the musical scene as Ney Gani, is the head of list of Frelimo in Quelimane.

Thus, Frelimo was declared the winner with a percentage of 50.45 percent. Renamo loses, with 43 percent and MDM comes third with 3.35 percent.

The data refers to the total of 180 voting tables that were available on voting day and a total of 76,734 voters.

The intermediate results at the level of the Quelimane municipality were released at a press conference , with no right to questions from journalists.
