Mozambique exits “state of calamity”, eases Covid-19 prevention measures – Watch

Africa-Press – Mozambique. The end of the “state of public calamity” in Mozambique has been declared, but the following Coivd-19 precautionary measures, decreed by President Nyusi in his address to the nation this Wednesday, are still to be observed:

Use of masks in closed places and on public transport remains mandatory;

Children below the age of 11 years are exempt from wearing masks;

Masks are not mandatory in open spaces, so long as social distancing is maintained;

People arriving in the country must hold a certificate proving vaccination or a negative PCR test taken with in the last 72 hours;

Children up to 11 years old are exempt from vaccination certification and proof of testing;

Infected persons must self-subject to a seven-day period of isolation;

Contacts with confirmed cases are not subject to quarantine;

The number of participants at Covid-19 funerals and wakes, etc., is not to exceed 50.
