Africa-Press – Mozambique. A businessman from Macomia, now a refugee in Chiúre district, Cabo Delgado province, was robbed of 1,400,000.00 meticais in cash by six unknown individuals a few days ago, Carta de Moçambique reports.
According to Carta sources, the victim was keeping the money (around US$21,998 at current exchange rates) – the fruits, apparently, of his cigarette business – in his house.
The assailants began their operations by tying up the guard.
Police are investigating the case, but the whereabouts of the robbers is so far unknown.
