Africa-Press – Mozambique. Mozambique Airlines on Sunday night (June 27) cancelled its scheduled flight from Tete to Maputo, following an anomaly detection warning which occurred just as the aircraft was about to take off.
In a statement cited by Radio Mozambique, LAM explained that, during take-off but still at a speed allowing for safe and complete deceleration, the aircraft issued a warning that an anomaly had been detected.
The pilots therefore followed manufacturer’s safety protocols and aborted take-off, bringing the plane back to the terminal apron for inspection prior to the resumption of operations.
The company statement confirms that a team of maintenance technicians were scheduled to leave Maputo for Tete today to assess the situation and proceed with any intervention deemed necessary for the aircraft to go back into service.
Passengers were disembarked and accommodated overnight, with the guarantee that they would fly to Maputo in another aircraft this morning.
