Africa-Press – Mozambique. The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is from today until Monday (07-02) participating in the 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) in the city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,

The event takes place under the motto “Building Resilience in Nutrition on the African Continent: Accelerating Human Capital, Social and Economic Development”.

A statement from the Presidency of the Republic states that the AU Assembly will assess the implementation of decisions on the engagement of member countries in the promotion of food and nutrition security, as well as discussing issues of development, peace and security and the strengthening of continental integration.

During the summit, the heads of state and government will witness the handover of the presidency of the African Union from Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to Senegalese president, Macky Sall.

President Nyusi iwill be accompanied by the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo Dlhovo; of Agriculture and Rural Development, Celso Correia; by the Ambassador of Mozambique to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Alfredo Novunga; and members of staff of the Presidency of the Republic and other state institutions.
