Africa-Press – Mozambique. The whereabouts of Mozambican businesswoman Sheinazi Gani, who was kidnapped more than a month ago, are still unknown, with the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) in Maputo City saying, without further elaboration, that it continues to work on rescuing the victim.

Businesswoman Sheinazi Gani was kidnapped on May 16th of this year as she arrived at her premises for another working day. Armed individuals seized here, dragged her into their vehicle and sped off to an unknown location.

To this day, a month and a half later, nothing is known about her whereabouts.

The businesswoman’s 20 employees told ‘O Pais’ that they continue to receive their salaries regularly, currently paid by the victim’s father.

But the employees are concerned, as they do not know their employer’s real situation.

SERNIC spokesperson Hilário Lole said on Friday (June 30) that “work is in progress to clarify this crime, but I cannot go into too much detail for fear of disturbing the ongoing investigation. We are working, and we will present results, although yes, the victim has not yet returned to her family”.

For now, the family does not wish to comment on the matter to the press.
