Africa-Press – Mozambique. The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) in Nampula on Monday (Aug 09) burned 86 kilograms of methamphetamine and cannabis sativa seized in the cities of Nampula and Nacala-Porto.
SERNIC provincial spokeswoman Enina Tsinine revealed that ten people are being detained in connection with the drugs seized.
Radio Mozambique has learned that, as a result of drug abuse, around 500 addicts were admitted to the province’s mental health centre for treatment during the first half of the year.
The number represents a 50% increase on the same period last year, when 280 people sought mental health services.
