Africa-Press – Mozambique. Night-time navigation has been suspended in the access channel to the Port of Quelimane due to the vandalism of signal buoys.
The development was confirmed by the Maritime Transport Institute (INTRASMAR) delegate in Zambézi province, Henriques Francisco, in an interview with Radio Mozambique.
Francisco estimates that more than five signal buoys have been vandalized by unknown individuals who removed lighting panels, among other materials.
Without disclosing the financial losses resulting from the vandalism of the signal buoys, the INTRASMAR Delegate in Zambézia said that efforts are being made to replace the material.
